Ticket Purchase Terms & Conditions

These terms govern every ticket purchase made through Eventor. Please read them carefully — by purchasing a ticket you agree to be bound by them.

Effective date: 2 July 2026
Last updated: 2 July 2026
Jurisdiction: South Africa

Summary: When you buy a ticket through Eventor you enter into a contract with the Event Organiser, not with Eventor. Eventor acts as the ticketing agent. Refund rights depend on the Organiser's stated policy, except where an Event is cancelled — in which case a full refund is always due to you. Reselling tickets above face value is prohibited.

Section 01

Agreement to Terms

By purchasing a ticket through the Eventor platform (the "Platform"), operated by Eventor (Pty) Ltd ("Eventor", "we", "us"), you ("Buyer", "you") agree to be bound by these Ticket Purchase Terms and Conditions ("Ticket Terms"), together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

These Ticket Terms apply to every ticket purchase made on the Platform. If you do not agree to them, you may not purchase tickets through Eventor.

These Ticket Terms are in addition to any terms set by the Event Organiser, which are displayed on the event listing. Where there is a conflict, these Ticket Terms prevail to the extent of the inconsistency.

Section 02

Definitions

In these Ticket Terms, the following words have the following meanings:

  • "Booking" means a confirmed order for one or more Tickets placed through the Platform.
  • "Buyer" means the person who purchases a Ticket through the Platform.
  • "Event" means the event, performance, exhibition, conference or other experience to which a Ticket grants access.
  • "Event Organiser" / "Organiser" means the individual or entity that has listed and is responsible for the Event.
  • "Face Value" means the price at which a Ticket is sold by the Organiser, excluding any fees.
  • "Service Fee" means any booking or payment-processing fee charged at the point of sale, whether by Eventor or passed on by the Organiser.
  • "Ticket" means a digital proof of entitlement to attend an Event, identified by a unique QR code.
  • "Unauthorised Resale" means the sale or attempted sale of a Ticket above its Face Value through any channel not approved by the Organiser.
Section 03

Ticket Purchase

3.1 Nature of the transaction

Eventor acts as a ticketing agent on behalf of Event Organisers. When you buy a ticket, you enter into a contract directly with the Organiser for attendance at their Event. Eventor facilitates the transaction but is not a party to the underlying contract between you and the Organiser.

3.2 Completing a purchase

A Booking is made when you complete checkout and receive an order confirmation. That confirmation creates a binding contract. Until it is issued, no Booking exists and no ticket has been sold to you.

3.3 Ticket availability

All Tickets are sold subject to availability. Adding a Ticket to your basket does not reserve it — it is only secured once your order is confirmed. Organisers may limit the number of Tickets sold per person or order.

3.4 Age restrictions

Some Events have minimum age requirements set by the Organiser or by South African law, stated on the event listing. You are responsible for ensuring you and any Ticket recipients meet them. Eventor and Organisers are not liable for entry refusals based on age.

You must meet the stated age requirement for age-restricted events. Buying a ticket for an under-age person in breach of the stated policy may result in entry refusal with no refund.

Section 04

Pricing & Fees

4.1 Ticket prices

All prices on the Platform are in South African Rand (ZAR) and are inclusive of VAT where applicable. The Face Value of each Ticket is set by the Event Organiser.

4.2 Service fees

Paid tickets are processed by our secure payment provider. Any processing or service fee may be absorbed by the Organiser or passed to the Buyer at checkout — the event listing indicates which applies. The full amount payable, including any fees, is shown at checkout before you confirm.

4.3 Price changes

Ticket prices may change over time (for example, an Early Bird tier may expire and be replaced by a higher price). The price you pay is the one displayed when you complete your purchase. Earlier prices do not affect your confirmed Booking.

You will never be charged more than the total shown at checkout when you confirm your order. There are no hidden fees.

Section 05

Payment

5.1 Accepted payment methods

We accept major debit and credit cards (Visa and Mastercard) and instant EFT, processed securely in ZAR by our payment provider. Payment must be made in full at the time of purchase — Eventor does not offer payment plans or lay-bys for ticket purchases.

5.2 Payment security

All payments are processed over encrypted connections by our PCI-DSS-compliant payment provider. Eventor does not store your full card number on its servers.

5.3 Failed payments

If your payment fails, your order will not be confirmed and no Ticket will be issued. Please check your bank account before trying again to avoid duplicate charges. If you believe you were charged without receiving a Booking confirmation, contact us at iam@niza.co.za.

5.4 Chargebacks

Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute for a valid, confirmed purchase without first contacting Eventor is a breach of these Ticket Terms and may result in cancellation of your Tickets and suspension of your account.

Section 06

Confirmation & Delivery

6.1 Order confirmation

On successful payment, you receive a booking confirmation email at the address on your account, containing your Ticket and its unique QR code. Please check your spam folder if it doesn't arrive within 15 minutes.

6.2 Digital delivery

All Eventor Tickets are delivered digitally — no physical tickets are posted. Your Ticket is always available under My Tickets on the Platform. We recommend saving it before the Event, particularly if the venue has limited mobile coverage.

6.3 Accessing your ticket

Your Ticket remains in My Tickets for as long as your account is active. If it hasn't arrived by email and isn't showing in your account after 30 minutes, contact our support team and we'll help.

It is your responsibility to have access to your Ticket at the Event. Eventor is not responsible for Tickets that can't be presented at the door due to a lost or inaccessible device.

Section 07

Refunds & Exchanges

7.1 Organiser refund policy

Each Event Organiser sets their own refund policy, displayed on the event listing before purchase. You are responsible for reading it before booking. Common policy types are:

Policy typeYour refund entitlementStatus
No refundsAll sales are final. No refund for change of mind or inability to attend.Non-refundable
Refund up to X days beforeFull refund if requested before the stated deadline; no refund after.Conditional
Exchange onlyTicket can be passed to another person; no cash refund.Conditional
Full refund at any timeFull refund available up to the time of the Event.Refundable

7.2 How to request a refund

Where a refund is permitted under the Organiser's policy, request it by contacting the Organiser or our support team with your booking details. Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method and typically take a few business days to reflect, depending on your bank.

7.3 Service fees

Where a refund is issued at the Buyer's request under the Organiser's policy, any service/processing fee is non-refundable unless the Organiser agrees otherwise. Fees are always refunded in full when an Event is cancelled by the Organiser.

7.4 Consumer Protection Act

Nothing in these Ticket Terms limits or excludes any rights you have as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 ("CPA") or other applicable South African consumer legislation.

Section 08

Cancelled & Postponed Events

8.1 Cancellation by the Organiser

If an Event is cancelled, all Ticket holders are notified by email and receive a full refund of the amount paid, including any fees, to their original payment method. No further action is required from you.

8.2 Postponement by the Organiser

If an Event is postponed to a new date, Ticket holders are notified. In that case:

  • Your Ticket remains valid for the rescheduled date unless you claim a refund.
  • You will be given a minimum of 5 calendar days from the postponement notice to request a full refund if you can't attend the new date.
  • If no refund is requested within that window, your Ticket is deemed accepted for the rescheduled Event.

8.3 Significant changes

A "significant change" includes moving an Event to a different city, changing the headline act, or substantially altering the nature of the Event. Where a significant change occurs, Buyers will be offered a full refund regardless of the Organiser's standard policy.

8.4 Force majeure

Eventor and Organisers are not liable for cancellations or postponements caused by circumstances beyond their reasonable control, including natural disasters, acts of government, civil unrest or public-health emergencies. Your right to a refund for a cancelled Event is not affected by the reason for cancellation.

If your Event is cancelled, you always receive a full refund — including all fees — to your original payment method.

Section 09

Transferring Tickets

9.1 Sharing your ticket

There is currently no in-platform transfer feature. Because entry is by QR scan, you may pass your Ticket to another person by giving them the confirmation, and they can present the QR code at the door. Each QR code admits one entry only.

9.2 ID-verified events

Some Events verify identity at entry (for example, age-restricted events). Where that applies, the person attending must be able to satisfy the Organiser's entry requirements. Contact the Organiser about any specific arrangements.

9.3 Prohibition on touting

You may not sell, resell, auction or otherwise transfer a Ticket above its Face Value ("touting" or "scalping"). Tickets offered for resale above Face Value — through social media, third-party platforms or any other channel — may be cancelled without refund, and Eventor reserves the right to report the matter to the relevant authorities.

Buying Tickets from unauthorised third-party sellers is at your own risk. Eventor cannot verify, replace or refund Tickets purchased outside our platform.

Section 10

Prohibited Conduct

When purchasing or using Tickets through the Platform, you may not:

  • Purchase Tickets using fraudulent or unauthorised payment credentials;
  • Reproduce, copy or duplicate a Ticket or its QR code to gain multiple entries;
  • Use automated software, bots or scripts to purchase Tickets in bulk;
  • Sell or advertise Tickets for resale above Face Value;
  • Share your QR code publicly or in a way that enables unauthorised third-party access;
  • Purchase Tickets on behalf of someone you know to be excluded from the Event;
  • Misrepresent your identity to obtain a Ticket at a restricted tier (e.g. student, press or accessibility) you are not entitled to.

Violation may result in cancellation of your Ticket(s) without refund, suspension of your account, and, where applicable, referral to the South African Police Service.

Section 11

Fraudulent Tickets

11.1 Counterfeit tickets

Eventor Tickets carry a unique QR code that is verified at the door by the scanning system. Any attempt to forge, alter or replicate a Ticket is detectable and is an offence under South African law.

11.2 Third-party purchases

Eventor does not guarantee the validity of Tickets purchased outside the Platform. If you buy a Ticket from an unauthorised source (e.g. Facebook Marketplace, Gumtree or an individual seller) and it is invalid or already scanned, Eventor is not responsible and will not provide a replacement or refund.

11.3 Reporting fraud

If you suspect someone is selling fraudulent or duplicated Eventor Tickets, please report it to iam@niza.co.za. We take ticket fraud seriously and investigate all reports.

The only guarantee of a valid, authentic Eventor ticket is booking directly through Eventor.

Section 12

Entry & Venue Conditions

12.1 Organiser's right of entry

A valid Ticket does not guarantee entry. Organisers and venue management may refuse entry or remove any person for reasons including intoxication, aggressive behaviour, failure to comply with venue rules, contravention of age requirements, or breach of the Event's code of conduct. No refund is due in such cases.

12.2 Latecomers

Entry after the stated start time is at the Organiser's discretion. Latecomers may not be admitted to seated or capacity-controlled events. Eventor accepts no responsibility for late arrival.

12.3 Venue rules

You agree to comply with all rules and policies of the Organiser and venue, which may include bag searches, prohibited-items policies, photography restrictions, and health-and-safety requirements. Non-compliance may result in removal without refund.

12.4 Personal safety

Eventor does not control the conduct of Organisers, venues, performers or other attendees, and is not responsible for any injury, loss or damage at an Event. You attend at your own risk and should take reasonable care of your safety and belongings.

Section 13

Liability

13.1 Eventor's role

Eventor acts as a ticketing agent and technology platform. We are not the Event Organiser, performer, promoter or venue operator, and are not responsible for the quality, safety or delivery of any Event, nor for loss arising from an Organiser's failure to deliver an Event as advertised.

13.2 Limitation

To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, Eventor's total liability to you in connection with any Ticket purchase is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant Ticket(s). We are not liable for indirect, consequential or special loss, including travel, accommodation or loss of earnings arising from a cancelled or altered Event.

13.3 Consumer Protection Act

Nothing in this section limits or excludes any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, nor limits Eventor's liability for fraud, gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

If you incur significant non-ticket costs (e.g. flights, accommodation) for an Event, we strongly recommend travel insurance that covers event cancellations. Eventor cannot compensate you for these costs if an Event is cancelled or postponed.

Section 14

Governing Law

These Ticket Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute arising from a Ticket purchase is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts, unless resolved through the process below.

14.1 Dispute resolution

In a dispute, please contact us first at iam@niza.co.za so we can try to resolve it informally. If we can't resolve it within 30 days, either party may refer the matter to the National Consumer Commission, the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud, or a South African court of competent jurisdiction.

14.2 Consumer Protection Act

As a South African consumer, you have rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 that cannot be waived by contract, including the right to receive a valid Ticket that matches its description and is fit for purpose. These Ticket Terms complement, and do not contradict, your CPA rights.
