Listing Events on Eventor

Anyone with an account can create and publish events — there's no separate organiser account or approval step. Just sign in and click Create Event to get started.

Yes — creating and listing events is free, and free events cost nothing at all. For paid tickets, standard payment-processing fees from our payment provider apply to each transaction; you keep the rest.

No. Individuals, community groups and registered companies are all welcome. To accept paid tickets, the platform's payment gateway must be set up to receive funds — free (RSVP) events have no such requirement.

Have these ready and you can publish in minutes:

• Event name, date and time
• A venue address, or an online joining link
• A category and a clear description
• A cover image
• At least one ticket type (free or paid)

The Create Event wizard walks you through: event name, date & time, venue (a physical address or an online event), category, description, a cover image, and at least one ticket type.

Use a high-quality landscape image (16:9 works best), saved as JPG or PNG.

• Keep important text away from the edges — it can be cropped on smaller screens.
• Don't put ticket prices on the image; prices change and are shown separately.
• Only use images you have the right to use.

Yes. Choose Online as the venue type and add the joining details (for example a Zoom or YouTube Live link) in your description so ticket holders can find them. Events should be aimed at a South African audience.

Yes. Your event is saved as you go through the wizard, so you can leave and finish it later from My Events. It stays private until you click Publish.

On the ticket step, choose Recurring, then pick a pattern — daily, weekly or monthly — and an end date. Eventor generates each occurrence as its own bookable date, so attendees can pick the session they want.

You can add one or more ticket tiers to an event. Each tier has its own name (for example General, Early Bird or VIP), a price in South African Rand (or free), a capacity, and a minimum/maximum per order.

Free events have no fees. Paid tickets are processed securely by our payment provider, which charges standard South African card/EFT processing fees per transaction. You receive the ticket price less those processing fees.

Yes. For each tier you can set a minimum and maximum quantity per order, and a total capacity. For example, a max of 4 prevents bulk buying, and a capacity of 100 closes sales once it's reached.

Yes — edit your tiers at any time from My Events. Anyone who already booked keeps the price they paid.

Open My Events, choose your event, and click Attendees. You'll see everyone who booked — name, email, tickets and status — and you can export the full list to CSV for check-in.

That's your choice. On the ticket step, turn on Manually approve bookings if you want to vet each one — then approve or reject bookings on the Attendees page. Left off, bookings are confirmed automatically.

Open the event from My Events (or use the Edit button on the event page if you're the owner), make your changes and save. For recurring events, the occurrences update to match.

On the Attendees page, reject a booking to cancel it — if it was paid, the attendee is refunded automatically. To call off the whole event, reject the bookings (refunding attendees) and unpublish the listing so it no longer appears.

Attendees pay securely in South African Rand (ZAR) through our payment provider, which supports major cards and instant EFT. Eventor never sees or stores card details.

Paid ticket funds are handled by the platform's connected payment-gateway account and paid out on the gateway's schedule — Eventor doesn't hold your funds. Make sure the payment gateway is configured before you sell paid tickets.

If you reject or cancel a paid booking, the attendee is refunded to their original payment method through the gateway. If you call off an event, reject the affected bookings to trigger those refunds.

Every published event has its own public page. Copy the event link and share it on social media, WhatsApp or in your newsletter — anywhere your audience is.

A complete listing — a strong cover image, the right category and a clear description — appears in the Events directory and in search. Events that people mark as Interested also rise in the homepage discovery section, so encourage your audience to save yours.

The following may not be listed:

• Events promoting hate, discrimination or violence
• Events that are misleading, fraudulent or designed to deceive attendees
• Events that are illegal under South African law
• Events for under-18s that aren't appropriately managed

You decide your own refund and cancellation policy and must state it clearly on the event page before tickets go on sale. Whatever policy you choose, a full refund is always required if you cancel or materially change the event.

Yes. As the organiser you're solely responsible for complying with South African law, including venue capacity and safety, liquor licensing, noise by-laws, POPIA when you collect attendee data, and any municipal event permits. Eventor isn't liable for issues arising from non-compliance.

We'll look into it and may contact you for your side before deciding anything. Serious or repeated violations of our Eventor Terms can lead to a listing being removed or an account suspended.
