6.1 With Event Organisers

When you book a ticket, we share your name, email address, and booking reference with the relevant Event Organiser so they can manage attendance. Organisers are required to handle your information responsibly and may not use it for any purpose beyond the specific Event.

6.2 With service providers

We use trusted third-party service providers to help operate our Platform, including payment processors, cloud hosting providers, email delivery services, and analytics tools. These providers are bound by confidentiality obligations and may only use your data to perform services on our behalf.

6.3 For legal reasons

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, regulation, court order, or government authority, or where we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Eventor, our Users, or the public.

6.4 Business transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of Eventor's assets, your personal information may be transferred to the acquiring entity. We will notify you of any such transfer and give you the opportunity to exercise your rights under POPIA.

We never share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers.

Section 07

Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by applicable law. Our general retention periods are as follows:

  • Account information — retained for the duration of your account and for up to 3 years after account closure.
  • Booking and payment records — retained for 5 years to comply with South African financial record-keeping requirements.
  • Support communications — retained for up to 2 years after the resolution of your query.
  • Usage and analytics data — retained in anonymised or aggregated form for up to 2 years.

When your personal information is no longer required, we will securely delete or anonymise it in accordance with our data destruction procedures.

Section 08

Security

We take the security of your personal information seriously and implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect it against unauthorised access, loss, alteration, or disclosure. These measures include:

  • SSL/TLS encryption for all data transmitted to and from the Platform;
  • Hashed and salted password storage — we never store your password in plain text;
  • Access controls limiting staff access to personal information on a need-to-know basis;
  • Regular security assessments and vulnerability testing;
  • Certified third-party payment processing — we do not store full card details on our servers.
