Finding Events

4 articles

Head to the Events page and use the filters — search by name, artist or venue, and narrow by category, location and date to quickly find what you're after.

Yes. On the Events page you can filter by category, such as:

  • Concerts & Gigs
  • Festivals & Lifestyle
  • Business & Networking
  • Food & Drinks
  • Performing Arts
  • Sports & Outdoors

Set your favourite categories under your interests and the homepage will highlight events you're likely to enjoy.

Tap the Interested star on any event. It's saved to your Interested events so you can find it again later — and popular events rise in the homepage discovery section.

Marking an event as Interested doesn't reserve a ticket — you'll still need to book one when you're ready.

Yes — many events are free to attend. Use the Free price filter on the Events page to show only free events. You still register and receive a ticket so the organiser can manage attendance.

Buying Tickets

4 articles

Tickets are paid for securely through our payment provider, in South African Rand (ZAR):

Visa & Mastercard Instant EFT

Every transaction is encrypted and Eventor never sees or stores your full card details.

Some organisers choose to pass a small service/processing fee to the buyer. If that applies, the full amount — fees included — is shown clearly at checkout before you confirm and pay, so there are no surprises. Free events have no booking fee.

Yes. You can enter the attendee's details during booking, and the confirmation is emailed to you. Since entry is by QR code, you can simply give your guest their ticket to show at the door.

The maximum per order is set by the event organiser — some cap it to prevent bulk buying. If you need more than the limit (for a large group), make another booking or contact the organiser through the event page.

Your Tickets

4 articles

Your tickets are in two places:

  • Email — a confirmation with your ticket is sent right after booking. Check your inbox (and spam) for an email from Eventor.
  • My Tickets — visit My Tickets to see all your bookings, each with the event details and a QR code.

Your Event Name

Date & time Venue
General Admission

Open the booking under My Tickets and download it. Both a ticket on your phone screen and a printed copy are accepted — the QR code is what the organiser scans.

Save or screenshot your ticket before the event in case the venue has poor signal.

First, check your spam/junk folder for an email from iam@niza.co.za. If it's not there, open My Tickets — if the booking shows there, your purchase went through and you can access the ticket directly.

If it's in neither place, contact our support team with the email address you used and the approximate booking time, and we'll sort it out.

Yes. My Tickets keeps both your upcoming and past bookings for as long as your account is active, so you can always go back to a previous ticket.

Transferring Tickets

3 articles

Yes. There isn't a formal transfer feature, but because entry is by QR scan, you can give your guest the ticket (forward the email or the downloaded copy) and they can use it to attend in your place. Each QR admits one person, once.

Eventor doesn't run a resale marketplace. If you can no longer attend, check the event's refund policy or pass your ticket to someone you know.

Be careful buying tickets from third parties or resellers — counterfeit tickets exist. Only tickets booked directly on Eventor are guaranteed valid.

For most events, no — door staff scan the QR code, not the name. Only events that verify ID at entry (for example age-restricted events) may check it. If that's the case for your event, contact the organiser to update the attendee details.

Refunds & Cancellations

5 articles

It depends on the refund policy set by the organiser, shown on the event page before you book — some events are non-refundable, others allow refunds up to a set time before the event. To request one, contact the organiser or our support team with your booking details.

You'll be notified and receive a full refund — including any fees — back to your original payment method. You don't need to request it; the refund is processed for you.

If the organiser makes a material change — such as a very different date or a different city — you'll be notified and can request a refund even if the event's normal policy wouldn't allow it. Minor changes (a small time shift, or a different room at the same venue) don't automatically qualify. Reach out to support if you're unsure.

Approved refunds are returned through the payment provider to your original payment method. This usually takes a few business days, depending on your bank. If it hasn't appeared after about 10 business days, check with your bank first, then contact support with your booking reference.

If you were turned away despite holding a valid ticket, contact support within 48 hours with your booking reference and a short description. We'll investigate with the organiser. Refusals for reasons like failed age verification or breaching the event's own rules are the organiser's call and aren't grounds for a refund.

At the Event

Open your ticket from My Tickets (or the downloaded copy) and show the QR code for door staff to scan. Turn your screen brightness up for a quicker scan. Printing isn't required — a ticket on your phone is fully accepted.

A few things to do before you leave:

  • Download or save your ticket so it displays without internet
  • Take a screenshot of your QR code as a backup
  • Print a copy if you'd like a physical backup

No. Each QR code is unique and is marked used the moment it's scanned. A second attempt to use it will be flagged as already scanned — this protects you from ticket fraud.

Never post a screenshot of your QR code publicly — whoever scans it first gets in.

It depends on the event. Age-restricted or licensed events usually require a valid South African ID, driver's licence or passport alongside your ticket. Check the event description for entry requirements — for most general events, your QR ticket is all you need.

Ticket Problems

5 articles

Try these in order:

  1. Turn screen brightness to maximum
  2. Try the downloaded copy instead of the on-screen one (or vice versa)
  3. Clean your screen — smudges and cracks interfere with scanning
  4. Give the door staff your booking reference so they can find you on the attendee list

If it still won't scan, ask staff to check with the organiser, who has your full booking on the Attendees list.

Wait a few minutes — some payment methods take a moment to confirm — then refresh My Tickets. If it still isn't there after about 30 minutes, contact support with:

  • The email on your account
  • The event name
  • Your bank statement reference for the payment

We'll verify the payment and issue your ticket — you won't be double-charged.

This usually happens when a QR screenshot was shared. Contact support as soon as possible — ideally from the venue — with your booking receipt as proof. We'll work with the organiser to void the used ticket and get you in.

Unfortunately Eventor can't verify or replace tickets bought outside our platform — we have no record of third-party sales. If you believe you've been defrauded, report it to the South African Police Service (SAPS) and the Southern African Fraud Prevention Service (SAFPS).

Always book directly on Eventor. If an offer looks too good to be true, it usually is.

Keep an eye on the event page — if other bookings are cancelled, those tickets are released back and reappear for sale. You can also contact the organiser through the event page; some hold a few tickets back or can add capacity for popular events.
